As a former OSHA safety and health compliance officer and safety professional with over 25 years of experience, I’ve seen both sides of safety. On one side, I’ve investigated preventable workplace fatalities and have dealt with the aftermath of co-workers and family members losing their loved ones. On the other side, I’ve built safety programs that have reduced injuries and their related costs, taught engaging safety trainings, and shaped safety cultures. Throughout my years of experience, one thing has always resonated with me - I want to make sure people go home the same way they came to work, no matter where they work.
In today’s business climate, manufacturers are under pressure to produce more with less and operate lean. Safety cannot just be a thing on a list that gets done because it is required, it has to be a core value - if not, business profits will suffer.
I founded Mid-Carolina Safety Solutions so that I can help more manufacturing and industrial businesses build safer workplaces, reduce risk, and develop practical safety solutions that work in the real world.
My approach to safety is simple:

I understand that safety professionals aren’t the only people responsible for safety. Plant managers, supervisors, HR professionals, maintenance teams, and employees all play an important role. My job is to provide knowledge, tools, and practical support they need to make safety part of everyday operations.
